1 John 4:19
We love because He first loved us.
Such a simple verse, and yet this verse is the center of our faith. We can love others because of Christ's unconditional love for us. We can accept love, because, Christ did the ultimate loving act.
But marriage is special. God created man and saw that it was not good for man to be alone. Man was missing something in his life. So what did God do? He took a rib from man, and created woman.
Because, God saw that the missing piece in this man's life was a woman!
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
A godly woman can make her man everything he needs to be. She can raise him up, make him strong, and she can help him reach his full potential.
The popular saying "Behind every great man there is a great woman" didn't just pop out of nowhere, there's a truth to it!
However, I would change one things about this saying.
What it should say is "Next to every great man there is a great woman".
A true man acknowledges that his wife is equal to him, and she stands next to him, not behind him. A true man sees that his wife is his greatest support system, and that he can't do it without her. She is valuable and irreplaceable, a gem to be cherished.
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.
An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
A wife is an amazing helper to find, but she is not to be abused! A husband needs to know that his calling is to provide and love her.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
A husband has an important calling to love his wife just as much as Christ loved the church. So the question becomes, just how much did Christ love the church?
Well, Christ DIED for the church. He was tortured, beaten, and mocked for the church. He took on the world's sin, for the Church.
So when a husband is called to love his wife, he needs to realize how important that calling is.
When I have learned to love God better than my earthly dearest, I shall love my earthly dearest better than I do now. -C. S. Lewis
Marriage isn't easy. In fact you want to be more like Jesus? Get married. Because you will never test your patience, trust, and love, more than when you're married. You want to live a selfless life, get married. You want to learn to love unconditionally, get married. You want to learn to forgive, get married. You will learn that you have to give 100% of yourself 100% of the time, and have faith that your spouse will do the same for you. A strong marriage reflects the character of Christ, and brings glory to God.
Have a good and godly marriage that shows the world Christ's love through how you sacrificially love and serve one another. -John Stange
God created a beautiful bond between two souls. Where one person falls short, the other lifts them up. One is not beneath the other. We might have different roles in the relationship, but that's what makes it beautiful. God made marriage perfectly.
God created marriage. No government subcommittee envisioned it. No social organization developed it. Marriage was conceived and born in the mind of God. - Max Lucado
Marriage is such a beautiful relationship and a gift from God. It's God’s design, created between a man and a woman. -Whitney Meade
I am so blessed to be able to photograph these two getting married and document their love for each other and for Christ.
