Our New Hope.
Updated: Apr 21, 2019
•1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
Did you know that God sent His son Jesus down to earth? While here, Jesus taught to the thousands. He healed the sick. He showed love and kindness to EVERYONE, and He was humble while doing it. He came to seek and save the lost. He was a perfect and sinless man.
And Yet, He would be betrayed by the people He loved. He would be tortured, beaten, mocked, and murdered. He would be hung on a cross, and give the ultimate sacrifice - His life. He would die a slow and painful death, and it was all for you. To read the full Bible story of the Crucifixion click here
Jesus was powerful enough to say no. He could have let us endure our own punishment for our sins. He could have gotten down from that cross if He wanted. But He didn't.
Why would He do that? Why would he endure so much pain just for me?
The answer comes back to one thing - Love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
God loved us so much that He gave us His son, and that Son died for us. He took The punishment for our sin so that we can have have eternal life in heaven with Him. You see, when Jesus died on that cross, He died for our sins. He endured an unjust punishment for all of OUR wrong doings, not His. The cross saved us from hell. Our world was condemned, we were on the road to destruction, but Jesus saved ua. We are so valuable to Him that He died for you! Our debt has been paid, we have been healed, we have been saved! But only if we follow Him.
Now I may have some people here thinking to themselves, yea but this is just a story! This isn't true!
Well my friend, let me drop some quick knowledge.
The Old testament, which was written hundreds of years before Christ was even born, contains over 300 prophecies about Jesus. And Jesus fulfills all of them. Through His life, death and resurrection all of these prophesies are fulfilled.
Now I'm no mathematician, so I had to do a lot of research on the odds of ALL of those prophesies coming true by one man. So let’s put it this way:
1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000
1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power
1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: honestly, I couldn't even find the answer!
Now to me, it's pretty clear that those odds are pretty remarkable, and for one man to fulfill all of them, well, that's just pure God. It's amazing how accurate, and consistent the Bible is! For more info on prophesies about Jesus click on this link!
NOW! Back to the story.
So three days go by, and He rises from the dead!
Let me say that again.
Jesus died on the cross, He was wrapped up, put in a tomb, a giant bolder was placed in front of that tomb, and three days later, the tomb is empty, the bolder has been moved, Jesus is out walking around after being tortured to death (literally) and then placed in a tomb for 3 days! And then He goes and sees His friends before He ascends into heaven. Showing the world that He is indeed an all powerful God and not even death has power over our Lord and Savior! Death cannot contain Him! Death cannot win when Christ is on our side.
And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here.

Jesus defeats death, sin, and Satan. The resurrection is our good news, it is our hope for new life. We are made new through Christ. And those same things have no power over us once we have Christ. All you need to do is repent of your sins and follow Him.
We can have eternity with Him in heaven. We can be saved from our sins, and ourselves. Everything we've done wrong can be forgiven. We are never too far gone.
But You see, Jesus' sacrifice demands a response. There will be judgment once we die, that is the harsh truth. He didn't die for no reason, He died to save you!
You only need to believe that God sent His son Jesus to die on that cross for your sins, repent, and live a new life for Christ. You have to change how you live now, and live for Him.
It sounds hard I know, I didn't say it would be easy. You may be hesitant, clinging to a life that you feel has been fine without Christ. Maybe, it's a sin you don't want to give up because it's too fun. Maybe, this lifestyle seems, dare I say it, boring?
That's what the world wants you to think, because whether you think so or not, man loves sin. We love our selfish desires.
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
But, what I can tell you is, for me personally, a life for Christ has been far more rewarding than a life of sin. I have a purpose to live for, and I have been blessed consistently.
He is always faithful, and He always provides. He takes care of His people. I can't even count how many times I have been in need, and God delivered EXACTLY what I needed. That's not to say that life isn't hard, or sad. Until Christ return, and He will return, evil will exist due to the fall, and because of our sinful nature, there will always be darkness.
But God is good! and He wants us to be with Him! Sometimes He provides in a way we didn't expect. Sometimes He answers your prayers with a not yet, or a no. And that's hard to hear, but just know that He is God, He is good, He knows what's best for your life, and He wants wants best for you.
I promise, if you live for Him, He will take care of you. Why else would he have died for you?
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Matthew 6:26, Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
John 15: 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
1 John 3:22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
God has a plan for your life, He loves you dearly, He sees value in you, and He wants you to be saved, He gave his life in order to save yours.
So this Easter remember this, you have a Lord and Savior who died for your sins so you don't have to take the punishment. I cannot stress enough how much He loves you.
He is risen. He is risen indeed!
Below are some unrelated Easter photos (I mean this is a photography blog I got to have some photos!)
