Deanna and Noe Sedona, AZ: Cathedral Rock Adventure Elopement

During this season of uncertainty, I have been awarded with amazing opportunities to travel to some of the most amazing places I have ever seen!! For a long time, I have dreamed of what it would be like to get to photograph one of those places that you would see in, lets say… a National Geographic magazine? Well this summer was my chance, and I am so excited to share all about it!

When one of my brides asked me about traveling to Sedona, Arizona, I did not care what I had to do I was not going to miss this! Here was my game plan: Wake up at 3am, get ready, drink five cups of coffee, pack my gear, lace up my hiking boots, hike up Cathedral Rock and get there by sunrise, enjoy the amazing view, and finally photograph an amazing couple (more on them later). Luckily, I had my amazing husband there with me, because I would not have been to do this all by myself. Me, steep inclines and 50 pounds of camera gear just do not mix. Don't get me wrong, I COULD do it... but man am I glad I didn't have to! Nearly ten years by my side, and he is still the most supportive husband I could ever ask for. Even after I tricked him into getting up for this 4:30 am sunrise session. Well, he claims that I tricked him, really it was a silly, yet hilarious miscommunication on both parts. In my defense, I have been talking about this sunrise session since the plan was made. He knows I am not a morning person so for him to assume that 4:30 means PM and not AM is fair, but when I say I must get up early… It's never by choice! Good thing he is a morning person, or I would have been in so much trouble!

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is meeting some of the most amazing people ever. Deanna and Noe took me on this adventure to capture their love but that is just a small sliver of their story AND I’M ALL FOR IT!!

Deanna and Noe first crossed paths in their sociology class and were not too fond of each other. She was the one who was always late, and he was the one who bee lined for the back row. They never spoke. Not once. Three years pass and there they were sitting across from each other in their college cafeteria with their mutual friend Crystal. It did not take long for sparks to fly. Deanna changed her habits from breakfast on the go to eggs and bacon in the Cafeteria every Friday with none other than the grumpy kid from the back row.

Deanna and Noe share a love that is so unique and irreplaceable. Their relationship grew stronger as the adventures became more adventurous, the laughs turned to belly cramps, and time became priceless. They have endured the trials of graduate school, long distance, cancelled graduations, losing a precious pet and a pandemic but that only taught them how to be stronger together. In May 2019, Noe asked Deanna to be his forever in Sedona, AZ. After their June 2020 wedding was cancelled, it was only natural that they continue the trend and have a micro wedding on Cathedral Rock in the same city that he proposed. These two were married on August 15, 2020 and I was so honored to be apart of it.
